Trying On Swimwear
Swimsuits must be tried on
over underwear due to U.S. Government Health Department regulations. Suits
that have been worn against the skin may not be returned by law.
Sample suits
If you need to see a AgonSwim.com suit before you decide to order,
AgonSwim.com can send you a sample suit. However, AgonSwim.com is too
small to provide teams with free samples. We are willing to send you a
suit to examine for quality, but you will have to return it to
AgonSwim.com. We will need a credit card number from your teams
representative before we can send you the samples. In the case that you do
not return the suit(s), we will charge your account for the sample(s).
Another way to go is to buy an affordable "grab bag" suit that you can
actually test out in the water.
Sizing Kit / Try on suits
After the design of your team suit is finalized and approved, we will send
you a sizing kit so that each swimmer can be sure to get the correct
AgonSwim.com size. We will need a credit card number from your teams
representative before we can send you the sizing kit. In the case that you
do not return the suit(s), we will charge your account for the sizing kit.
All teams should order a sizing kit, as it is not possible to exchange
custom swimwear after it has been made.
Fitting
AgonSwim.com uses a high
quality Lycra that does not stretch out like other manufacturers suits.
Therefore, you should not feel that your AgonSwim.com suit fits tightly.
AgonSwim.com suits will not "relax" or stretch out over time, so make sure
your suit fits comfortably now. For individual orders, if your suit it too
tight, it will wear unevenly and will not last very long. If you think
your suit is too tight, send it back before you wear it, and well
exchange it for another size (please note that US Health Dept. regulations
preclude returning suits that have been worn). This offer, however, does not apply to custom suits. It is not possible to exchange custom swimwear after it has been made. All teams should order a
sizing kit prior to placing their order to make sure they receive the
correct sizes.
A Word on Undersizing
Many swimmers
believe that in order to swim fast, they need to buy a suit that is too
small. When swimmers do this, they shorten the life of their swimsuit. In
order to swim fast, swimmers can order a variety of AgonSwim.com products,
including streamline suits, and our elite suits (streamline). These suits
are not lined and are cut higher in the leg; therefore they are lighter
for competition. However, we still do not recommend undersizing in any of
our products.
A Word on Competitive Swimming
A typical swim season consists of many practices, some midseason or dual
meets while still practicing, a period of "tapering" or resting for the
important, end-of-season competition, and the big meet itself. Some
coaches may want swimmers to undersize their suits so that they can "swim
fast." The need for a lighter suit is only necessary at your most
important meet. Serious swimmers will often buy a racing style suit
especially for that meet. These suits are cut smaller, are unlined to be
lighter, and are often made of special material, such as streamline or paper.
AgonSwim.com offers an elite cut suit in two types of fabric for
your big meet. If your coach insists that you must wear an undersized,
fully lined, Lycra suit, rather than buying two suits for the season, you
will have to follow his/her request, but keep in mind you will
significantly shorten the life of your Lycra suit by wearing it too
small.
Washing
Your
AgonSwim.com suit will last the longest if you do not machine wash it.
Soap and shampoo contain detergents that harm Lycra. It is important to
rinse your suit in cold, clean water each time you wear it to remove
chlorine and perspiration. It is best to hang your suit to dry, rather
than leaving it in a bag or rolled up in a towel.
Quality
AgonSwim.com
uses the highest quality materials and sewing processes for all its suits.
However, it is a fact of life that Lycra fabric has a limited usable life
in chlorinated water. How long your AgonSwim.com suit lasts depends on the
fit of the suit, how you take care of the suit, and the pool conditions
where you use your suit.
*Size Conversion Information
This size
conversion is provided to give you a general orientation for the size
swimsuit you might wear. AgonSwim.com has tried to keep its sizes in line
with industry standards, but slight variations from one manufacturer to
another invariably occur. Individuals should feel free to try on your suit
when you receive it, and if it does not feel comfortable, you may return
it for a different size. (Health regulations stipulate that swimwear that
it is soiled, worn, damaged or laundered is consider to be in other than
"as new" condition and cannot be returned.) This offer, however, may not apply to custom suits.
It is not possible to exchange custom swimwear after it has been made. All teams should order a
sizing kit prior to placing their order to make sure they receive the
correct sizes.
